Today we announce an official partnership to further the non-profit organization’s mission to restore and protect water resources in Florida’s peninsula region. This partnership will establish Richardson as the exclusive provider of custom caps for Captains For Clean Water, including an in-kind product donation that will enable the conservation organization to continue their journey of raising funds and bringing awareness on this critical issue.
Decades of water mismanagement of the greater Everglades watershed has resulted in devastating impacts to water bodies from coast to coast. Characterized by harmful algae blooms and polluted water discharges, the consequences include severe economic, ecological, and public safety implications. Captains advocates to advance Everglades restoration as the solution to these issues and has rallied supporters across the nation to get involved. Their efforts have infused the conservation movement with a fresh, new energy that has positioned the outdoor community at the forefront and inspired everyone to work together to protect the delicate natural resources we all enjoy. Today, there is another potential water crisis looming in the region, and Captains is calling for everyone to get involved.
“As we face a potentially devastating water crisis, the need to advance the work we do at Captains to fight and protect our waters in Florida has never been greater,” said Captain Daniel Andrews, Co-founder and Executive Director at Captains For Clean Water. “Our mission was born out of passion for the outdoors; as fishing guides, we simply began by raising awareness and educating our communities and policymakers about the water crisis we face. From the beginning, the Richardson cap has symbolized a voice for change, and has helped us build awareness for our waters.”
As a company made up of athletes and adventurers, a passion for sports and the outdoors runs central to its values. The partnership with Captains For Clean Water is a natural extension of these values and a commitment to protecting the wild spaces where we all play.
“We are honored to officially team up with Captains For Clean Water in an effort to cast broader awareness around the real environmental and human risks that face Florida’s aquatic ecosystems,” said Kelly Richardson, CEO of Richardson. “We strongly believe in their conservation efforts, and we are proud to support them as they continue their efforts to fight to protect these valuable resources for future generations.”
With this partnership, we join the nonprofit grassroots organization’s growing list of supporting outdoor brands including Columbia PFG, Mustad, Orvis, SIMMS, Traeger Grills, YETI, among many others.
